Straight-fit original chino pant

Only pants I wear for work. They look and fit very well after a few washes, they arrive a little loose and baggy

These chino's seemed fiine at first. The waist & length were good but these straight fit pants are, for me, baggy around the hip/upper thigh/butt. I realize we are all different shapes so these might look better on someone with thicker legs/butt. I tried on the 'slim fit' which was perfect around the hips/thighs, but the lower leg was too tapered and narrow. Again, this might just be my body shape. The real issues began when I washed these- I'm not sure this is normal, but I wash all my new clothes before wearing. The pants did not really shrink, but they were very wrinkled. Wrinkles were expected-they're almost all cotton- but what wasn't expected was that I couldn't seem to get the wrinkles out. I went over these multiple times, carefully, with hot steam iron, and they still don't look smooth. HOWEVER, the biggest issue (and one that is causing me to want to return these) is that the panels of fabric that are used for the front of the leg and the back of the leg must have been cut out on an angle, or perhaps, one piece washed differently than the other. The issue is that the legs are now 'twisted' - the seams don't line up and if you force them into alignment the legs are out of shape and you can't iron a straight crease in the front or back. I'm not sure if this is just my pair or a common problem with this pant style. I've been told I cannot return them because they've been washed but of course, the big problem didn't become evident UNTIL they were washed. I have other chinos and honestly, the Amazon better brand (not basics) are nicer than these from J. Crew. Sad...

Great chinos that are very comfortable. Fit is great and really like them.
