Rated 3 out of 5 by Lucy Way too big
The size chart is really off for this dress. I looked at it before purchasing, and bought a 0, which really should have been slightly too small, but I was drowning in it. I loved the style of the dress, so I sent it back for the size down, 00, but it was still way too big. I ended up taking it to the tailor because I need a dress for my graduation next week, but I was really annoyed by the complete inconsistency between the sizing chart and the actual dress. If you're going to provide measurements for your garments, JCrew, at least make them accurate.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MCSG This dress does NOT run large!
Sigh. I'm not too happy that I purchased this dress when there were only two reviews, both stating that this dress runs SUPER large. Not true. I am a solid 4 in all J Crew (and Factory) clothing, and pretty much every other brand. I sized down to a 2 based on those two reviews, and now I have an un-returnable dress that is too small. A very cute dress, I might add. The material is admittedly too thin on the bodice, so wearing a strapless bra is a must, but otherwise it is just a lovely dress. Wonderful, breezy, light summer fabric, on an adorable style- not too poofy in the skirt at all. I'll try to figure something out, but I don't think a tailor will be able to take it out enough, since it was a fitted-bodice style to begin with. I'm disappointed, because this dress is just so pretty.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lissya Too large, material is too thin.
Dress looked great online, and I was really excited to receive it. Unfortunately, despite owning a few other dresses from J. Crew and J. Crew Factory (all in size 4), this one was *way* too large around the torso, and then flounced outwards to a much greater extent than you might expect from the picture. In addition, I found the material of the bodice to be too thin, and consequently see-through, even when wearing a white bra (the skirt was opaque enough, if only due to the sheer amount of material and number of folds, etc.).
I'm usually really happy with J. Crew (and love the shoes that I purchased at the same time), but this particular dress leaves a lot to be desired.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LemmeBGreat Not too, big too long
The other reviews say that the dress is too big. The dress flares out quite a bit, and is a little long. I am normally a 12, bought a 12 and it fit great for me. My problem is that the dress stops right below the knee, making it not really a flare dress. I read somewhere that if the dress is below the knee you should wear heels with it. The first time I wore it I wore flat sandals and felt a little frumpy, when I put it with wedges I felt it looked great. Both times I wore it I got quite a few compliments. So I would buy the dress again, and I would recommend it to others.

I am so happy I purchased this dress. It is comfortable, cool and machine-washable, with pockets. The skirt hangs well from the waist (pretty - not frumpy), although, at 5'9", I do wish the waist was a little lower on the torso. That won't be an issue for most women, though. I highly recommend this dress.
