Rated 2 out of 5 by Julie SHRUNK A TON IN WASH
Have purchased other Flannel shirts from J. Crew Factory and have loved them. This shirt fit perfectly when I wore the first time....until I washed it and it shrunk a ton. It is too tight and super short now.

I have a closet full of J Crew apparel and I love their flannel shirts. This pattern is very pretty and like many other items, I HAD to have it. The problem is when you wash it. A lot of my JC clothing I get dry cleaned, but not sweatshirts or flannels. Maybe I should have with this one as even though I put it in on delicate (cold wash/cold rinse) and hung it to dry only putting it on the fluff air cycle for about 15 minutes once it was mostly dry, it STILL shrunk! Very disappointed, I really liked this shirt.

Bought this in store the other day. I am currently breastfeeding my baby so I am stocking up on comfortable button downs for winter in northern CA. This is a slightly thicker flannel than other current jcrew offerings. I am broad shouldered; this shirt in M leaves enough room that my rather large (about 34DD-G, approximately, depending on time of day) nursing chest and wide shoulders are both accommodated without pulling or gapping. Unlike other reviewers, I have washed it now 3-4 times and I don't think it has shrunk much at all.

I'm 5'5" 123 pounds and typically wear size xs/s for J Crew depending on the cut of the shirt. This shirt is very loose and baggy at first. After reading all the other reviews, I went to a J Crew factory store and bought the blue and orange mainly because my husband is a big Denver bronco fan...anyway, what i noticed right away that you wouldn't know from the picture is that the orange/blue/white shirt is much heavier cotton than the other flannels in this style. Also, from reading the reviews I bought a medium and figured it would endure alot of "shrinkage" and therefore fit my typical xs/s J Crew size. After the first wash and dry, it has definitely shrunk..so much so that the shirt arm length is 1 1/5" shorter than when I first purchased it. My hope is that it doesn't shrink more with the next wash and dry. Over all, if you want a more fitted, non shrinking flannel, this is NOT the one for you. I know 100% cotton will shrink, but this seems much more than normal.

I love pairing this flannel with jeans and cowgirl boots. The shirt is super soft and very warm; great layering piece, or to wear on it's own. Get it one size down if you're looking for a more fitted shirt, or get it in your traditional size if you want something more loose-fitting. It's 100% cotton -- don't put it in the dryer!
