Houndstooth smockneck dress

Love this dress. Love the cut. Super flattering. It is definitely shorter than other J. Crew dresses. wish it was a few inches longer (and I'm on the shorter side).

I took a chance on a final sale...note to self, don’t buy final sale items without trying them on. This dress does run a little small in the body. I’m an hourglass body type—running a little bigger than usual (thanks Pandemic). Everything zipped and buttoned easily, but it just wasn’t flattering at all. This dress seems to be short waisted. I know that I am a little long waisted, but when I put this dress on, it was almost an empire waist. The bodice was blousy— very unflattering with a larger chest. The sleeves are very long so the blousy portion at the bottom looks very big. The neck detail is not cute IRL—the way the neck buttons makes it look like you have the dress on backwards. I think that if you are relatively curveless and have a small-ish chest, it could look cute. Oh, and it’s probably better for a taller person. I’m 5’5” and it hit right around my knee. Very blah.

This dress looks nice on the hanger but fits oddly on my body. There is a skirt lining on the bottom only that is much more snug that the dress itself - considering removing it for a better fit. The fabric is definitely clingy & full of static. I usually wear a size 6 and ordered in a size 6 - fit is fine. Probably needs a belt to jazz it up a bit.

Cute dress, perfect for the office or a nice dinner out. I would suggest sizing up just because the dress has no stretch. Be aware that it has a side zipper and as someone with wider hips you can notice the “zipper” lump. Otherwise I would order again but in a size larger.

Super cute, flattering waistline and moderate skirt length. I really like the pattern and it works well with other colors.

Super cute dress with a flattering fit. I’m 5’4”, 148ish pounds. An 8 fit perfectly hitting me just at my knees with the sleeves coming just to my wrists.
