Embroidered dress

I had a chance to try this on in the store and was glad I never bought it online. The fit was true to size (I'm 32-25-34, bust-waist-hips) in a 00 and the cut was flattering. I would have bought it except for the fact that the quality of the dress was poor. Every single dress regardless of size did not look like the dress in this stock photo where the embroidery is concerned. There was scant embroidery on the bodice, and what embroidery was there did not match up at the seams as pictured here. Additionally, the white fabric is thin/sheer enough such that you can see where the seams are sewn; so if there happens to be some embroidery on the fabric that was folded and tucked into a seam, you can see it through the fabric. This was most noticeable at the waist & bust. Makes me wonder if this is an in-store problem, or if this poor workmanship extends to the dress you buy online too.

This dress is beautiful, and I definitely get compliments on it. However, it is a little see through, even though it's lined. The embroidery on it is even prettier IRL. One other note is that it's a little tight around the thighs, so if you have a bigger behind (like me)...it can cause it to bulge a little around the mid section. Not horribly so though!

This is a lovely summer dress. The cotton fabric is very comfortable, and it's streamline without being tight. Straps follow bra straps for additional comfort. I love the combination of black detail on a white dress, and this didn't disappoint. The only drawback is that it's dry clean only. I suspect that's because the black embroidery would stain the dress if it was washed by machine or hand. Great find!
