Striped eyelet dress

Really wish I had not ordered this and can't return it. So many hits from JCrew usually but lately a lot of misses and this was one of them. The top is oddly, too big and too small at the same time that I don't even know how to rank the sizing. I followed the sizing guide and ordred based off of pass purchases but this just doesn't fit. I will be able to make it work but wont be as comfortable or as sleek looking as I had hoped, and use to having from JCrew products.

I bought this dress in periwinkle for a work-related casual cocktail party, and it worked well for that venue. I think it would be too short/low-cut for conservative offices. The neckline was just low enough on me to show a small amount of cleavage. I'm fairly busty (34DD), so that might not be an issue for someone with a slightly smaller chest. The lining is shorter than the skirt - it ends right at the horizontal band on the skirt, and is clearly a feature of the design, and doesn't look cheap or mis-matched. The main fabric has a lot of texture and interest. My only issue with the dress is the very visible zipper. It's silver and fairly industrial-looking - and installed in such a way that the whole zipper (including the fabric side parts that are usually sewn to the inside of the dress) is visible. Though it's probably meant to be a part of the design, to me it made the whole dress look a bit cheaper. An invisible zipper would have been a better way to go.

Overall construction of this dress is well done. The material is a little stiff, but definitely has an interesting texture that draws the eye! I can't wait for a dress up occassion now!

This dress looks stunning on! The fabric is thick and high quality. I got my usual size 4 and do feel I could have sized down, but overall I am very pleased with this dress. Beautiful!

I ordered this dress in the bright red color (Vibrant Flame). The quality of the fabric seemed great. Unfortunately, there was just too much material on top - so it didn't flatter my frame. I am 5'10", 155-160 lbs, and ordered the dress in size 8.

The fit is amazing -- it almost looks tailored, the way it's fitted around the waist. The color is a gorgeous, vibrant red. Length is perfect, falling just above the knee (size S, I'm 5'7"). A great purchase!
