Cable sweater

I usually wear a medium at J. Crew Factory, but ordered this in a large for the extra length. Unfortunately, the body is quite wide, while the length is still shorter than I would prefer. I am 5'5" and short-waisted, and this sweater just skims the top of my hipbones. It's certainly not the most flattering sweater I own, as the excess material around the waist makes me look a little frumpy. Nevertheless, I bought all three colors because of the quality of the fabric. I've never before owned a wool sweater that didn't make me want to scratch myself to pieces! The sweater is warm without being suffocating and the tighter knit actually keeps the wind at bay. When I want to feel cozy and relaxed, I'll reach for this sweater.

This is a great basic. I am 5'2" and 116 and bought the xs. It is slightly oversized but I am not drowning in it. It may be slightly short on taller women. I took off one star as it stretches out slightly after wearing several times. I love the feel of it - not scratchy at all even with the wool content. I haven't laundered it yet so I can't comment on that. Pretty and versatile!

Love the petite cables. Terrific fiber combination...can be washed!

I am almost always an XXS, except in thinner sweaters. Since this is cable knit I ordered my normal size, however this sweater felt a bit short even on my small 5/1" frame, and I'm worried once I wash even on cold ti may shrink. It is very nice and not itchy so I am exchanging for an XS.
