Zip ponte dress

This dress is a staple in my closet. I bought it in Black initially then had to order another in Deep Jade. The exposed metal zipper is the perfect trendy detail, allowing the dress to be very versatile - from professional to cocktail. The fit is flattering and classy. The material is heavy enough to not be clingy and light enough to be perfectly breathable. The fabric feels durable and has enough elastic to be extremely comfortable, which is rare for a fitted dress. If you tend to be in between sizes (like me), I would recommend sizing down. I am approximately 5'4" 120 lbs and the 0 fits me perfectly! You won't regret purchasing this dress.

I purchased the green color after having wanted a dress that color for years. The sleeves are a perfect length on me, somewhere between 3/4 and bracelet. I'm petite and straight-shaped (5'1, approximately 102 pounds), so I did have to have the dress taken in from the bust down (waist, hips). It is a typical J. Crew alteration for me, and I would recommend whatever size you normally take in J. Crew. The online description said dry clean, however, the garment says it's washable. I machine washed it but did not dry, and it looks fine. I am very pleased with this item!

I loved this dress when I first got it. I'm 5'8" 130 lbs, pear-shaped, usually a size 2 or 4 at JCrew Factory. I went with a 2 and it fits well - falls a couple inches above my knee, so with tights it's work appropriate (I work in a dressier business casual environment). The sleeves are a perfect bracelet length and fall a couple inches above my wrist. The one problem I have is that the first time I wore this dress to work, after sitting at my desk for a bit, I noticed the butt had stretched out a bit causing a weird saggy/excess fabric look in the rear, so much so that I actually felt embarrassed to walk around in it. Maybe because of my body shape? Or maybe I need to adjust it better as I'm sitting down? I'm really disappointed because this is a great dress otherwise. Bought both the black and grey and can't return them now, so maybe I'll just have to wear a long cardigan over it.

This is an easy work piece which can be dressed up with accessories. I'm normally a 4 or 6 in jcrew, and the 4 fit with a little bit of room. I wish they made more colors!
