Pocket popover shirt

I really struggled to find the appropriate size for this fabric in the the slim fit J Crew button down style. When I saw this version on the J Crew Factory website, I immediately bought it, and was not disappointed! I found that it ran a bit large due to the generous cut, so I sized down (the bust darts help with sizing if you're unsure). I wear this shirt tucked in or out with Lexi slacks, a J Crew Twill blazer and a bright chunky J Crew floral necklace I purchased last year. I feel fabulous in this shirt!

I waited a long time for someone to review this shirt to see if it'd help my purchasing decision, so in the vein of helping others, here's my review: Since there is only a picture of the shirt, you can't see the side slits (super disappointing for me as this fact alone would have been a deal breaker). Also, I thought the fabric would drape nicely and be a light, summery cotton shirt that I could wear in casual situations, but this is a mid-weight (stiffer) poplin type fabric that is more of what a button up work shirt is made from (again, not for me). Too, the horizontal stripes on the chest pocket catch the light differently than the vertical stripes, making the pocket stand out. The shoulders fit true to size, but the body is kind of roomy, and finally, this material appears to wrinkle easily because it came with severe creases. I wish the shirt had been pictured on a model, because I wouldn't have bought it due to the side slits. It's a fine shirt if these things won't bother you.

My wife truly enjoys this item. It's perfect for her closet.
