Solid ruffle-sleeve dress

This dress is fine, but the fit is nothing exciting. I am 5'6.5 and 115 lbs with a medium chest. The dress lays over my chest a little oddly. It seems like there should be some darting or more thoughtful fitting through the chest. The length is fine for work, and hits a bout 1.5 inches above my knee (I have long torso and short legs). If I raise my arms (to fix my hair or touch my face) the whole dress raises. I wish the sleeves were just a fraction shorter or a fraction longer, as it feels awkwardly between lengths. The arms are somewhat tight (as stated in a previous review) but not intolerable The quality of the material is nice and thick. Its not lined, but the dress would be too warm for spring/summer if it were. The fit through the shoulders is perfect. I like the drama of the bell sleeves, despite the oddness in length. I needed a navy dress for work, and this dress works for that.

I LOVE this dress! It's so soft and comfortable, has the ability to be dressed up or down, and has gotten SO many compliments when I wear it! I am 5'6" and 150lbs. I got the Medium in this- fit is great! I have a smaller top and wider bottom, and this dress fits really nicely! It's not too tight across the butt/hips and fits great up top. Very classy dress, and adorable when paired with nude pumps and a fun necklace!

Perfect with booties and a vest on a Friday, or pumps with pearls in the boardroom!

It may not be the most glamorous looking dress, but it's a really good dress. The "puckered" quality to the fabric that another reviewer mentioned I think adds some interest to an otherwise very plain dress. The sleeves and shoulder weren't an issue for me as I have very narrow, small shoulders. My frame, as the other reviewer said, is very small and well suited to this dress (FYI - I'm 5'4", 120 lbs and a 32c). I can see that someone with a fuller figure might not like it. It is a basically simple, well designed dress that needs accessories!

Purchased size MDM for numerical size 8-10. Was a bit much to pull over head. As previous reviewer stated, the shoulders and arms are a tad restrictive. Because I could not comfortably slip over head, I will be returning. Also, the fabric on this item has a puckered texture. It is not a flat cotton/poly blend. The “lining” is not a traditional slip lining. It is fabric that is fused and presents as one piece. Nice idea, but an epic fail for me. Perhaps a more petite frame could appreciate.

I’m obsessed with bell sleeve dresses lately and have bought two similar styles from another brand at a much steeper price. So when I saw jcrew carry this I had to give it a try. Fabric is stretchy and fully lined. Navy is rich and vibrant. Fit is decent, -if your body type can handle a shift cut in general. I have gained weight lately so my top is much fuller than before. Sadly shift dresses are not the most flattering anymore. I’m 5’4”, ~125lb, 34c. Tried on S and found it just a bit loose overall. There were bunches and creases I had to constantly pull down. Tried on xs, shoulders too narrow and chest a little restrictive. Also sleeves are almost full length on me, not 3/4 sleeves which I prefer. The elastics on the sleeves where the flares begin are really tight, and I have small wrists. Overall I think it’s a trendy and comfortable casual dress with minor fitting issues. If I haven’t had other two similar ones, I would probably buy this in small. Good value for the price.
