What customers are saying:
This gold floral jacquard dress gets lots of love for its gorgeous fabric, elegant navy-and-gold look, and polished party-ready style. Customers often mention that it feels well made, is lined, and has nice details like pockets and a flattering skirt shape. Fit feedback is mixed, with some customers saying it runs a bit big or that they preferred sizing down, while others found it true to size and flattering through the body. It generally lands as a chic holiday dress that earns plenty of compliments.

Beautiful dress!!
December 23, 2015This is a great dress! I bought a size 16 just to be on the safer side. I am 5'7" and curvy and this dress falls above my knees. The gold flowers are not too glittery and I like the quality of the material. It is lined and on the shoulders has the ties with press buttons that will keep the bra straps in place. The arm holes are a tad bit larger but the bra doesn't show. I could have used the length to be a tiny bit longer especially since it flares and lifts a little because of the butt. But I am stoked that the delivery came one day earlier - a great early birthday gift (to me ;)) and I have a lovely new dress to wear to Christmas or the NYE!! Thank you J Crew! You always deliver!!

christmas dress
December 9, 2015I have been a size 2 my whole life but I think this dress runs big. A 0 or even a 00 would probably fit a lot better. The quality and the design is beautiful though

Fits like a petite
November 23, 2015I'm 5'8" and J.Crew standard sizes usually fit me really well. I love love love a drop-waist dress, so when I saw this go on sale and read the rave reviews I ordered it in a snap. I was really disappointed when it arrived and the "dropped waist" was still a full two inches above my hips — barely lower than my natural waist. I even double-checked the tag because I thought they might have sent me a petite version by accident. The dress is lovely otherwise, but it looked badly proportioned, ill-fitting, and awkward on my frame. It would probably look good on anyone under 5'5" or 5'6". I don't have a long torso or anything else that would cause it to fit in an unusual way, and other drop-waist J.Crew dresses I've ordered have fit as expected, so I'm not sure what happened here. Definitely disappointing.

Great fabric, a little poofy
November 1, 2015The fabric of this dress is GORGEOUS. As previously mentioned, it is NOT black, it's navy and gold. For reference, I'm 5'3" and 115, athletic/slim build 32B with slightly curvy hips and in J.Crew/Factory, usually a 0/2. I ordered the 0 since it is loose around the hips, which fit like a glove... Like very flattering and slim fitting, but I want to wear it to some holiday events where I plan to eat a lot of snacks, so I exchanged for the 2. My one complaint, is that the skirt is just a tad fuller than I would prefer. I don't mind it (it has pockets, too!), but if you're the kind of person who is self conscious about adding volume around the hips, I wouldn't go for this one.

Pretty as pie
October 31, 2015This dress is just as lovely in person as in the photos! I love it. I did have to exchange it for a smaller size. I am 5'4" and 112 pounds, and the size 0 was too big, so I was able to get the 00, and it fits better. It is about 2 inches above my knees, and the bodice fits tight.

Perfect party dress
October 29, 2015This is a beautiful, sophisticated and chic dress, perfect for the upcoming holidays. Fitted through the body so it's very slimming, with a full skirt. The blue and gold jacquard makes this an elegant dress. I love it, thanks J. Crew!!
