Chevron pleated dress

For some reason, I thought the fabric had more of a sheen to it, but when I received it, it's more like a cotton dress. It fits well (although I went up 2 sizes) and is quite flattering. Definitely a summery, casual dress, when I was expecting a fancier, multi-season dress, but it's still nice!

I have MANY J. Crew & factory dresses. Typically I find that the dresses run a bit big. However that was not the case with this dress. As other reviewer advised, I sized up to a 10 petite. For reference, I am 5ft, 3in and 140 pounds, somewhat curvy build (36c chest). This dress is pretty low cut, so much so that it is not appropriate for the office. Also, the bust area is so cut slim, that a cami does not work under it. Unfortunately, it was final sale, so no returns. If your chest is any bigger than an A cup, you'll want to size up or maybe order a "regular" size rather than "petite". I do love the color (I ordered the green) and the style of this dress, the cut just doesn't work on my fairly average body type.

I ordered this dress in an 8 based on the J Crew size charts. I normally order a 6 or 8 in dresses. I am 5-8 145 lbs. The 8 fit perfectly. The light periwinkle color is a nice soft grey with a hint of purple. I found the chevron pleats to be flattering. They didn't quite line up at the bottom of the front of the dress, but I do not think anyone will notice. Some reviewers have commented on the deep V in the front. I don't think this is too deep at all. I guess you could always add a panel if you wanted. This dress can be dressed up or down depending on the shoes and accessories, the versatility is great. I would buy it in succulent as well if it was still available in my size.

This dress is so comfortable and easy to wear casually or dress it up with a jacket. Love the color too!

This style was listed on J. Crew last year, and I fell in love with it. I purchased in all available colors (blush pink, white & periwinkle) in size 8T. I was thrilled to see it on the Factory site. By the time I saw this dress, it was final sale, but the Green was so pretty, I bought it anyway. I even sized up to a 10 to be sure it fit, because the 8Ts were a little tight by now. I can't even get the 10 zipped above my waist, let alone through the bust! By the size charts on both sites, it should fit and I have other Factory 8s that do fit (admittedly tight, but I can zip them!). Can we get a little consistency? So, not only does it not fit and I can't return it, apparently someone else had a similar problem because the dress arrived with the seam split at the bottom of the zipper. I'm really disappointed, but what's a girl to do?

This dress arrived quickly and fit well. I probably should not have ordered this since an A-line dress isn't the best look for my shape. My hips tend to exaggerate the flare of the dress's cut. I passed it on to a friend. I would usually order a 10 in a dress, but this was a 12.
