The quality and metallic gold are just fine. It's not for girls/ladies/guys with medium thickness to very thick hair who want to do a ponytail. This barrette seems better suited for those with thinner hair. It popped open a few times when I tried to secure it. Still, it's a very cute barrette.

This barrette is fantastic! It sparkles a little, and holds a lot of hair. I wore it all day and it felt secure and classy. Definitely a winner if you're looking for something to use when wearing your hair half-up.

Being metal and heavier than I expected, I was worried this barrette would slip and slide in my hair. My hair is fine (thin strands) but I have a lot of it, so I find that as long as I put enough hair into it, it stays put. I’m a minimalist with my jewelry and only ever wear pearls, so this is a way to jazz up my look in a subtle and classy way.
