Sheath dress

I had high hopes for this simple sheath dress, but I ordered my normal size (size 8 - I'm 5'4, 140lbs, 34D), and the band around the middle and the chest were both very tight with no stretch such that the dress was quite uncomfortable.

I wanted to like this dress because I loved the shape of it, the V-neckline and the seaming, but it has a very inconsistent fit. I ordered my usual JCrew size which normally fits perfectly, but in this dress the top, from the waist up, was very tight, and the bottom, from the waist down, was very loose, almost balloon-like. It seemed as if two dress, one a size smaller than mine and one a size larger, had been sewn together. Had the fit been correct, I would have kept this dress and would recommend it - the fabric is wonderful and seaming detail make it a very interesting dress. Perhaps it would work well on someone who is very small on top and fuller on the bottom, but that is not me.

This dress looks nice in the picture, but was very unflattering on. The color is sort of a melon rather than a coral (which I had been hoping for) and the cut of the neckline fell in a strange place, for me at least. Overall it looked a bit dowdy.

Perfect crisp, bright color for summer. Form-fitting but still ladylike.

This dress did not work for me. First, the v neck was not work appropriate for me. Also, the deal breaker for me was the weird pleats at the waist.

I wasn't sure about this dress when I bought it, but the fit is amazing! It is so flattering, perfect for work and going out after work. I lent mine to a friend for an interview and she is now buying it in another color.
