Bouclé lady coat

Love the cost very much! Well made and beautiful in person. I would highly recommend the coat! You can wear the coat casual or dress up.

Initially ordered this one size up from my usual size 18 and had to return because it was way too small in the shoulder/chest area. I was disappointed that the next size up wasn't available so I took a chance and ordered a 24. The fit is great minus the sleeves being a bit too long but nothing that takes away from the overall quality and beauty of this classy coat. I haven't worn it out yet but the lining and outer material seem like they will be warm enough for the southeast on winter days paired with a hat, gloves, and maybe a scarf.

Per the reviews I ordered in both my normal J crew size 0, and a size 2. The size up was too big everywhere but the midsection which is where the coat is a bit smaller. The size 0 had enough room, length was fine (I'm 5'5", longer legs, with a bit of a tummy), a little tight around the stomach but not too tight, but the fit wasn't flattering at all. I'm smaller up top and found it to look bulky, broad, and too spacious, and it was the opposite of slimming. Wasn't a good look. Also one of the coats had a chunk of the fabric missing/ripped out? - poor quality control, I honestly didn't trust the overall quality of the coat since boucle can wear quicker than other wool/wool blend coats if it isn't the best quality, in my experience.

I should have learned my lesson with Jcrew coats. They are way too small. I ordered 2 sizes up from my normal size, and it was still too tight. My arms just fit in the sleeves, so forget wearing it with a sweater. I am pear shaped, and despite ordering up I still couldn’t button this A-line coat over my hips. I don’t think I’d return it for a coat now four sizes up to try to get it to fit.

I really wanted to love this coat but I ordered a size up and it was too roomy and long so I returned it. I'm 5'5' and it hit me past the knee. I am typically a 2 or an XS (32B) in JCF tops, and I ordered a size 4 based on some of the reviews. If it would've hit mid-thigh, I would've kept it. Its a nice medium-warm coat. I live in Texas so it would've been a perfect weight for the coldest part of winter here. It is lined and less scratchy than some of the wool coats (I'm senstive to wool). I took a star off for length. I'm not short but I felt like it was an odd length.

The style and fabric of this coat are absolutely timeless. The boucle version runs smaller than the wool version, though. I wear a 6 in JCF coats and could barely button the top button in a 6, but the wool coat in the same size fit like a dream. I am ordering a size up and hoping it works, as this is sure to be a closet staple!
