Eyelet skirt

I love this skirt for many reasons. It's a thicker material (100% cotton) so it has a nice weight to it along with a nice weight to the lining so that it's not see-through. Another reviewer said it was too thick, but if it were thinner it would look cheap & your panties would be visible. I love the pockets, length is just right, and the elastic waist gives it flexibility after a big meal! I'm 5' 9" & ordered my regular size 6 in skirts. It's true to size. The elastic waist allows me to easily adjust the placement on my body. I like that the lining does not go down all the way to the length of the dress by stopping just above the knee allowing the pretty eyelet design to really show. It's so cute and sweet. I'll be wearing it all summer long. I paired it with the sleeveless Gingham Shell Top in bright red (item F2217), tucked in. If you're like me & don't have much of a backside, tall and narrow, this skirt is great because it will give you some shape. :) Wish it came in more colors!

The concept of this dress was a good idea, but it just didn't look right on me. It's likely due to a couple of reasons - heavy cotton fabric made the skirt seem clunky and had no easy drape, the gathers at the waist didn't help and made me look wider, and the skirt is too long (even when I bought a petite for a shorter length. Imagine if I went with my usual size and the regular length! (I ordered a petite in my usual size and was still swimming in it). The eyelet is thick fabric, and so is the interior lining. Some redeeming things, it has pockets (cute), and is comfortable. To get a proper fit - I would suggest to get a petite (if you want a shorter length) and size down. The petite sizing did not affect anything except the length.

So disappointed this skirt did not work out for me! The main issue here is the banded waist. I am not sure if I ordered a size too large or what, but the elastic waist created so much "volume" around my midsection with all of the bunched material. This skirt basically gives you an automatic stomach pooch. If the waist was more tailored/fitted, this would be a fantastic skirt! So bummed as the material, length, and texture were awesome.

This skirt is so cute and so versatile. I wasn't sure that the midi length was for me, but after trying it on with various color tops, it had to come home with me. Such a simple, crisp piece to match with any color tee and a statement necklace, and you are dressed for casual dinners, graduation, or even an outdoor wedding. Love it!! Washed it on cold and hung dry and its ready to go again!
